Fifteen Kenosha Unified School District employees will be formally honored for exemplary service and significant contributions to the educational community on Monday, March 16 at a Recognition Awards Dinner. Additional awards for Business in Education, Parent in Education, and Friend of Education also will be presented that evening.

The school district honorees include 2008-2009 Elementary Teacher of the Year Helena Boles, Somers Elementary School; Middle School Teacher of the Year Shari Perrine, Washington Middle School; High School Teacher of the Year Karen Wambold, Harborside Academy; and Special Area Teacher of the Year Margo Zoerner, Nash Elementary School. Belinda Grantham, Head Start Administrator at Cesar Chavez Learning Station, is Administrator of the Year.

Ten employees earned Distinguished Service Awards. They are:

Shirley Ade, Educational Assistant, Somers Elementary School; Pam Bauer, Secretary, Somers Elementary School; Michelle Burns, Teacher, Southport Elementary School; Eileen Coss, Accounting Manager, Educational Support Center; Virginia Fennema, Social Worker, Brass Community, EBSOLA and Whittier Elementary School; Kip Keckler, Instructional Technology Specialist, Washington Middle School; Page Kessler, Technology Teacher, Indian Trail Academy; Mary Tobin, Special Education Teacher, Jeffery Elementary School; Judy Vanderford, Physical Education Teacher & Consultant, Jefferson Elementary School and Sharon Willis, Teacher, Southport Elementary School.
